French Onion Steak Sandwiches

Serves 4 |
A homemade restaurant quality sandwich.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter |
4 beef cubed steaks |
1 onion, sliced and separated into rings |
1 cup beef broth |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce |
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder |
4 slices French bread, toasted |
2 slices Swiss cheese, halved |
Directions:
- Melt margarine in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steaks; cooking for 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet, leaving drippings in pan.
- Cook onion in drippings until tender.
- Combine broth, cornstarch, Worcestershire, garlic powder and a dash of pepper. Add to skillet. Cook and stir until bubbly, then an additional 2 minutes.
- Place steaks on bread. Top with cheese and onion mixture.
