Hearty, yummy and fun to make.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 whole eggs, plus 1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 lb dates, chopped
2 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
2 cups walnuts, coarsely chopped

Directions:

  1. Preheat an oven to 375° F. Grease 2 baking sheets with cooking spray.
  2. Sift together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt into a mixing bowl.
  3. Place the butter in a separate mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer set on high speed, beat butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the granulated sugar and brown sugar.
