Great for game days and weekend dinners.

Ingredients:

6 bratwursts
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 sweet onion, sliced
Salt, to taste
Ground black pepper, to taste
1 bottle light beer, 12 oz.
12 slider buns
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup stone ground mustard
8 slices Muenster cheese
4 tablespoons salted butter
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tablespoons mustard powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil into a skillet, swirl around to coat. Bring to medium-high heat. Once hot, add the bratwursts and sear all sides until evenly browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the bell peppers and onions, season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium and slowly pour in the beer. Cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove brats from the skillet and cut in half. Drain the liquid and return the brats.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Then add the brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard powder, stir until well incorporated.
  6. Separate the slider buns. Arrange the bottom halves on a rimmed baking sheet. Spread the mayo and mustard on the buns. Place the brats followed by the vegetables and then the cheese on the bottom buns. Place the bun tops on the cheese to complete the sandwiches.
  7. Brush the butter sauce over the tops of the buns. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake, uncovered for about 15 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted.
