Savory and sweet with a nice smoky finish.
Ingredients:
3 cans navy beans, 15 oz. each |
1/3 cup light brown sugar |
2 tablespoons BBQ sauce |
2 tablespoons molasses |
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar |
1 teaspoon dried mustard |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, more to taste |
1/2 lb thick cut bacon, chopped |
Directions:
- Preheat smoker to 250° F. Use your preferred wood for smoking.
- Drain and rinse two cans of beans, pour both cans into a cast iron skillet. Pour the entire third can of beans over top. Stir to combine.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar, BBQ sauce, molasses, apple cider vinegar, dried mustard, onion powder, salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Set aside.
