Slow Cooked Root Beer Pulled Pork Sandwiches





Serves 8 |
The perfect outdoor party sandwich.
Ingredients:
2 lb pork shoulder |
1 can root beer, 12 oz. |
1 bottle BBQ sauce, 18 oz. |
8 hamburger buns |
Prepared coleslaw, for garnish |
Directions:
- Place pork in slow cooker. Pour the root beer over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
- Transfer the pork to a large bowl and shred it using two forks.
- Drain the liquid from the slow cooker.
- Place the shredded pork back into the slow cooker. Pour BBQ sauce over top and toss until the pork is well coated.
- Place the lid back on. Set to low and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
- Separate the top and bottom portions of the hamburger buns.
- Scoop an even amount of shredded pork onto the bottom buns. Add a generous amount of coleslaw onto the pork and place the top bun on the coleslaw. Enjoy!
