Pan-Seared Filet Mignon





Serves 2 |
The easiest homecooked filet mignon.
Ingredients:
| 2 filet mignon steaks |
| 1 teaspoon kosher salt |
| 1/2 teaspoon ground peppercorn |
| 2 tablespoons butter |
| 2 cloves garlic, smashed |
| 2 sprigs fresh rosemary |
| 2 sprigs fresh thyme |
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400° F. Coat both sides of the steaks with salt and pepper.
- Add the butter, garlic, rosemary and thyme to an oven safe pan. Bring to medium-high heat. Melt the butter, stirring frequently.
- Add the steaks to the hot pan. Sear the steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, spooning the hot butter over the steaks.
- Transfer the pan to the oven and cook for 5-15 minutes, depending on preferred doneness.
- Remove from the oven. Transfer steaks to a plate. Let rest for least 5 minutes.
