Bacon, Onion and Brown Sugar Baked Beans





Serves 6 |
Add more zest to your baked beans!
Ingredients:
1 can barbecue baked beans |
3 slices bacon, chopped into small pieces |
1 red onion, finely chopped |
1 teaspoon coarse black pepper |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425º F.
- Pour beans into casserole dish and place in oven. Bake for approximately 6 minutes, while you prepare bacon and onion.
- Cook bacon over medium-high heat in a small nonstick skillet, 2-3 minutes. Add chopped onion; cook 3 minutes longer until bacon is crisp.
- Take beans out of the oven and scatter the bacon and onion mixture around the beans.
- Sprinkle the bacon mixture with black pepper and brown sugar. Put beans back in oven and cook 10 minutes more. Serve and enjoy.
