Easy Brown Sugar Shortbread Cookies





Serves 20 cookies |
A sweet treat that is great any time.
Ingredients:
| 2 sticks unsalted butter, plus 2 teaspoons for butter sheets |
| 1 cup packed light brown sugar |
| 2 cups flour |
| 1/8 teaspoon salt |
| 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
| Powdered sugar, for dusting |
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Lightly grease cookie sheets with 1 teaspoon of the butter each and set aside.
- Place 2 sticks of butter into a large mixing bowl, use electric mixer to cream butter. Add brown sugar and beat until light. Add the flour, salt and cinnamon, mix until incorporated, being careful not to overmix.
- Roll cookie dough into 18 balls. Place the dough into the prepared sheets. Bake until set and pale golden brown, about 12-15 minutes. Remove from the oven, let cool for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
