Orange Beef and Broccoli

Serves 4 | 

A sweet citrus twist to the classic dish.

Ingredients:

For the Orange Sriracha Mayo:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon orange zest
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
For the Beef and Broccoli:
1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons coconut aminos
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
2 carrots, cut into matchsticks
2 cups broccoli, chopped

Directions:

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, orange zest, orange juice and Sriracha in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
  2. Bring a pan to. medium heat then add the ground beef. Cook for 3 minutes. Drain the liquid from the pan. Season the ground beef with ginger, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir together and cook until the ground beef is fully browned.
  3. add in the orange zest, juice, red pepper flakes, and coconut aminos. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Place the broccoli and carrots in a pot and steam for about 3 minutes, until tender.
  5. Pour the steamed vegetables into the pan and stir together. Spoon the beef and vegetables on to serving plates. Drizzle the orange Sriracha mayo over top and enjoy!
