Slow Cooked Fried Apples





Serves 6 |
Sweet with a hint of spices.
Ingredients:
| 3 gala apples, sliced |
| 1/4 cup brown sugar |
| 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
| 1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
| 1/4 cup sugar |
| 1/4 cup melted butter |
| 1 tablespoon lemon juice |
| 2 tablespoons cornstarch |
Directions:
- Place apples in a mixing bowl, sprinkle cornstarch over apples and coat evenly.
- Combine brown sugar, cinnamon and sugar in a separate bowl.
- Pour sugar mix over apples and toss to coat apples.
- Transfer apples to a slow cooker. Turn to high heat.
- Pour melted butter, vanilla extract and lemon juice over apples. Stir to combine.
- Place lid on slow cooker and cook for 2-3 hours. Apples should be very tender when ready.
